Your first week of vibe coding: a no-overwhelm plan
A day-by-day starter plan to complete your first track, submit a challenge, and build momentum.
Week goal
By day seven you will have: finished at least three lessons, copied one production-grade prompt, and submitted one challenge — without burning out on syntax trivia.
Day 1 — Mindset
- Read What is vibe coding?
- Start First Vibe → complete lesson 1
- Write three sentences: what you will ship first
Day 2 — Prompt craft
- Complete lesson 2 in First Vibe
- Save one prompt in your notes with role + constraints + output format
- Run it twice; note what changed in the second pass
Day 3 — Review muscle
- Before accepting any AI edit, list two risks (security, UX, perf)
- Complete lesson 3 or revisit a diff you rejected yesterday
Day 4 — Tools tour
- Skim
/toolsand pick your primary IDE - Compare one workflow note with Cursor vs Windsurf
Day 5 — Challenge
- Open
/challengesand pick a beginner prompt challenge - Submit once — imperfect is fine; streaks reward showing up
Day 6 — Ship visibility
- Deploy or screenshot your artifact
- Share one lesson takeaway (Discord, X, or a friend)
Day 7 — Retro
- ≥3 lessons complete
- 1 challenge submitted
- 1 prompt saved for reuse
- 1 thing you will improve next week
